How the Lord Reached MeAs a young person in a Christian household, it took time for me to answer the Lord Jesus' call to give my life to Him and His Church. Year after year, as a watched my parents' devotion to Christ, I never truly opened to the Lord in the depths of my heart. I had not yet witnessed His captivating beauty, nor surrendered all to His mighty grace.
And so it took time. I believe it was the Lord's mercy that my parents were meeting with the local church in Cleveland, Ohio, where I received such a tremendous amount of love, and where I was led to meet the Lord Jesus in a personal and life-changing way. Growing up, I was encouraged by many brothers and sisters in Christ. With support from my parents, I learned to read the Bible not just on Sundays, but everyday. I also learned to pray and speak with the Lord in everything I did. I even remember sharing that Jesus was my Savior with kids on the playground in sixth grade.
Having friends who pursued Christ really encouraged me in my Christian walk; and with the role models of so many in the church who were living before God and had given their lives to Him, I could not but want to know and love our Savior too.
I owe so much to the fellow lovers of Jesus in the local church. Through so many members of the Body of Christ, I began to know Jesus as my Friend, my Savior and my God.
